The most effective approach depends on the type and depth of your acne scars. PicoSure laser is well suited for surface-level discoloration and mild pitting, while Vivace RF Microneedling and Potenza RF Microneedling are particularly effective for deeper textural scarring because they stimulate collagen remodeling beneath the skin surface. Many patients benefit from a combination of treatments. We assess your specific scar type during a consultation and recommend a plan based on what your skin actually needs.

The number of sessions varies depending on the treatment used, the type and severity of the scarring, and how your skin responds. Many patients see noticeable improvement after a series of three to six microneedling or laser sessions, while some scar types may require additional treatments to achieve the desired outcome. We set realistic expectations during your consultation and adjust the plan as your skin progresses.

Most scar treatments at The G Spa are performed with a topical numbing cream applied before the session, which significantly reduces discomfort. PicoSure laser and RF microneedling treatments may cause a mild warming or prickling sensation during the procedure. Most patients tolerate their sessions comfortably and return to their routine the same day or within a day or two, depending on the treatment selected.

Older scars can still respond well to treatment, particularly those caused by acne, injury, or surgery. While newer scars may remodel more quickly, established scars often show meaningful improvement with the right combination of laser, microneedling, or filler-based treatments. Age of the scar alone does not determine whether treatment will be effective. We evaluate each scar individually during your consultation to give you an accurate picture of what results may look like.

Downtime depends on the treatment chosen. Microneedling sessions typically involve a day or two of redness and mild sensitivity, similar to a sunburn. PicoSure laser treatments may cause some temporary redness and slight swelling that settles within a few days. Deeper RF microneedling with Vivace or Potenza may involve a few more days of visible skin response. We discuss what to expect from each treatment in detail during your consultation so you can plan ahead.

Yes, several of our scar treatments are suitable for a range of skin tones. PicoSure laser is designed to be safe across multiple skin types, and microneedling-based treatments including the Eclipse MicroPen are also well tolerated across diverse skin tones. We review your skin tone and history carefully before recommending any treatment to make sure we select the approach that minimizes risk and delivers the best possible outcome for your skin.

Pricing depends on the treatment or combination of treatments in your plan, the number of sessions recommended, and the areas being addressed. PicoSure laser, microneedling, RF microneedling, chemical peels, and dermal fillers are each priced differently, and packages are available for multi-session plans. We provide clear, transparent pricing following your consultation. Financing options through Cherry are also available for patients who prefer a payment plan.
